A Short Experimental Film
Role: Writer, Director, Editor, Videographer| Timeline: Mar 2023 - April 2023 | Tools/Skills: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Plot Composition
Project Description: This short experimental film explores the emotional and psychological journey of dementia, immersing the audience in the perspective of an individual as the disease gradually progresses. Inspired by Everywhere at the End of Time—a haunting music series by The Caretaker that sonically represents the stages of dementia—the film translates similar concepts into visual form. Each phase of the narrative reflects a sense of loss, disorientation, and fading identity, mirroring the emotional unraveling portrayed in the music. Through fragmented visuals, sound distortion, and abstract transitions, the film evokes the slow and painful erosion of memory and self.
Plot/Concept: Eight short pieces from the music series were carefully selected to reflect the emotional states and progressive stages associated with dementia. Each track is paired with a corresponding video segment, visually representing the subject’s memories gradually fading and becoming trapped in an eternal void.
