Alphabet Flashcards of Historical Landmarks from Asia
Role: Designer, Researcher, Editor, Presenter | Timeline: Feb 2024 - Mar 2024 | Tools/Skills: Photoshop, InDesign, Active Feedback
Project Description: This project challenged me to design a set of 26 double-sided flashcards based on vocabulary from a chosen profession. Focused on typographic hierarchy and grid systems, the objective was to present definitions clearly and engagingly while maintaining consistency across the series. Through careful research, content analysis, and typesetting in InDesign, I created a cohesive informational tool that demonstrates clarity, structure, and thoughtful visual design. This project reinforced the role of typography in organizing and communicating complex information effectively.
Learning Outcomes
• Strengthened understanding of typographic hierarchy to guide reader attention and improve clarity.
• Applied grid systems to create consistency across a multi-card design system.
• Practiced content analysis and information design by translating researched definitions into engaging visual formats.
• Improved typesetting skills using Adobe InDesign, including paragraph and character styling.
• Gained experience designing with purpose—balancing aesthetics with clarity and function.
• Learned how to maintain visual unity while allowing for variation within a structured series.
